Moved In!

Saturday, June 30th, we finally got moved into our new house! We didn’t quite reach our goal of having the walls and floor completely done, but we got to so close! We’ve been very busy in our personal lives so our house hit a stopping point once we moved in.

We have decided to go with a farmhouse design with a neutral grey that will match browns and blacks. I figured that would be the best considering we’re hoping to sell within the next 5 to 7 years.

The flooring is tongue and groove, that made installing it super fun! I might have a new hobby. The floor is my favorite part. To match the rustic flooring we painted the walls a dark grey that really pulls the farmhouse look together, along with white trim that has yet to be installed.

My mom took it upon herself to create a beautiful and bright bathroom! We got all new… well everything, to make sure the bathroom is completely up-to-date with the time. Mom replaced the drywall, installed new plumbing, tiled our walls in the shower and the floor and then did a few more odds and ends. I cannot thank her enough for all her hard work! She’s truly amazing and surprises me everyday with her knowledge and talents!

My dad was our “mud man.” He mudded all of the drywall. He saved me so much money by doing this, and it was not easy. I appreciate him so much! The drywall looks great throughout the house. On the corners he used drywall joint tape with metal in it which was so much easier and even a little cheaper than the typical metal corners. I highly recommend it! Shop for it here —->  🙂

We still have to remodel the kitchen but I am going to save up some money and finish some other projects before I dive into that. We’re looking into new appliances and white cabinets. I plan on turning that tiny kitchen into a chefs dream!

We will eventually get to the spare bedroom and laundry room. I have many plans for them but they’re pretty low on my priority list right now.

I am so excited to show you all the final product, but there is still more to do! My goal is to pick a project daily and slowly finish up the place. Hopefully we will get the walls and floor done before too long.

Living in your own house is a much different feeling than renting. Everyday I look at my family and I’s work with a smile. I am proud of my house, I love it.
